InventHelp Inventor Develops New Suture Accessory (ASP-366)

PITTSBURGH, July 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — “I had three knee replacement surgeries in six years. I thought there should be a barrier between the suture tie and skin to prevent overgrowth of the incision area,” said an inventor, from Lytle, Texas, “My design could also help prevent the site from being infected, and reduce scarring.”

The invention provides an effective means to prevent the overgrowth of sutures and the associated infection to the sutures and incision. In doing so, it offers a barrier to keep the tie end of the suture elevated from the skin. It also would make the removal of the sutures easier. The invention features a practical design that is easy to apply so it is ideal for hospitals and surgical centers. Additionally, a prototype model is available upon request.

The original design was submitted to the Austin sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
